The Light of the World is the Light of Your World

"Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path." Psalm 119:105

This verse is quoted pretty often. In fact, you've probably seen it printed on cards, coffee mugs, maybe even decorative plates - usually in cursive font with a lighthouse in the background, am I right?

Don't let the over-quoted nature of this verse cause you to scroll on past this post.

God's Word gives light, and that's something to be considered. We live in a dark world. At a time when more people than ever are plagued by depression and anxiety, a little brightness could go a long way.

Genesis tells us that when God created the world, "God said, 'Let there be light,' and there was light."

God said, so there was. God's words spoke light into darkness. Darkness disappeared wherever God spoke light.

Later, when Jesus came to Earth, John called Jesus the Word and said: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God... In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."

The Word is the Light. God's Word is your light in the darkness. Maybe your life is feeling dark right now. Lean into Jesus through the Word of God.

The Light of the world is the Light of your world too.
